The doctor's said you would be born April 2. You were not. This is your Mom the next day--still very pregnant!
April 3, no baby. April 4, no baby. Friends and family called, emailed, and sent messages asking where our baby was. Many of your dad's friends had had their babies come early, so they had started asking us before April 2. Your mom had to stay home from work during this time, so she watched a lot of movies and talked on the phone. She went into the doctors office many times so they could check on you. Every day your dad would call from work and ask if the baby was coming yet. Every night he'd ask if she felt any contractions.
Your mom was very lucky with you. Most of the time women have morning sickness and other pains or discomfort when they are pregnant. Your mom didn't have any of that with you. You were a very easy baby to carry. Perhaps you were just too comfortable inside Mom! Dr. Vukelich, Mom's doctor, (who also delivered Karin and Mark!) decided that if you hadn't arrived by April 13, they would have Mom go to the hospital and induce her.
April 12, around 6 in the morning, your mom woke up with stomach pains. She'd had small stomach pains on and off the last few days. These were worse. Contractions are supposed to start off being a long time apart. Not these! When your mom woke up in the morning, they were already less than 5 minutes apart. That's when it's time to get to the hospital!
Your mom woke up Dad, and told him that there were finally contractions. He said, from his sleep, to wake him up again when they got closer. Mom said they already were close together, and it was time to leave now! Their bags were already packed for the hospital, so they quickly added a few more items and were off.
After a very long day of labor and almost 4 hours of pushing, you were born at 9:18 at night. You were very strong to have made it so well through the long labor. You were healthy and perfect. You weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and were 20 1/2 inches long.
